Summer Break: Yellowstone National Park

Salam and hello everyone!

Alhamdulillah, last month I had the opportunity to visit Yellowstone National Park right after I finished my field session in California. It was a rather quick visit, considering that my flight back to Malaysia was within a couple of days.

Yellowstone National Park has always been one of the places in the US that I wanted to visit... Unfortunately, we only managed to go to several infamous stops inside the national park because we were running out of time. There were a lot of hiking/walking to do and the weather was pretty cold too. Nonetheless, I am glad that I got to see most of the awesome stuffs like geysers, wildlife and more colorful geysers!

When I was walking to the Grand Prismatic Spring, I passed by an old man walking alone towards the parking lot. He walked very slowly with the help of  a walking stick he held firmly in his right hand. I watched him for a while until he was safely back in the bus. He was probably with a tour group, but he was definitely travelling all alone - with no family, no friends. It got me thinking; I am very fortunate that I am able to travel to places when I am still young. Other than struggling for my studies, I don't have much responsibilities on my shoulder that I have to prioritize. That uncle, on the other hand, possibly couldn't get to travel much during his youth because he had to take care of his family, sick wife, saving up for the sake of his children's education or maybe he just did not have enough money. It just hit me for a sec that I am very well blessed, and I should thank Allah more for all the pleasures I experienced in my life. Yes, I know that my interpretation might be wrong - the old uncle might just love travelling alone since he has a lot of money.

Here are a few pictures of the beautiful scenery of Yellowstone National Park. I couldn't find a picture of Old Faithful Geyser erupting (I have like 1000+ pictures in my camera from visiting Yellowstone). From my pictures, you can definitely tell that I am not a good photographer nor am I good at editing the pictures... But the places are still beautiful so you MUST go when you have enough money and are healthy!

I would love to go back after several years and explore the sides that I did not get to visit! :)
I would also like to recommend everyone to go visit Morning Glory - it is approximately 45 minutes walking from Old Faithful. They said it is the heart of Yellowstone!

So excited to be here!
Just a bison shitting right in front of me =__="

Look at the turquoise color!

The prettiest among all I visited.

Weirdly amazing.

Another turquoise pool!

Seems like there is a starfish inside the pool!

Another superb creation. SubhanAllah!
Words can't describe how beautiful this fountain is!

Summer Bundle Post

Entry 1
Petroleum Engineering field session to California for two weeks was fun and informative. Honestly what the future has in store for me is a bit blurry, but I am sort of excited for it! #PetroleumEngineer #WomenEmpowerment

Entry 2
What a fun day at the zoo.

Entry 3
Yellowstone National Park was very mesmerizing. Love every single bit of it!

Entry 5
Went on a 20-hour total flight time, with one layover at Narita Airport for about 7 hours. Met a Muslim revert at the prayer room.

Entry 6
Cats are everything.

Entry 7
Went straight to a restaurant after my parents fetched me at the airport and couldn't help but ate three plates of Nasi Lemak this morning.

Entry 8
Dad teaching me how to drive is scarier than a teacher scolding me for disciplinary acts. (Not that I've ever done any)

Entry 9
Spent 10 days in Jakarta with my sister. Was travelling alone all the way there by myself. I think I would enjoy living and studying in Jakarta more than in Golden. I just prefer city life...

Entry 10
Sometimes I think my life is a bit pathetic... Or maybe because it is night and I'm just feeling sentimental for no reason.

Entry 11
I thought that I was going to be super stoked to finally getting to read Malay novels again. I spent an hour trying to find a good love story in MPH with no luck. All novels seemed to have the same kind of story line - poor girl, super rich guy, arranged marriage, initially husband and wife not getting along well and finally fall head over heels for each other. Very cliche.

Entry 12
I always paint whenever I feel down. I need to buy art supplies ASAP!

Entry 13
May Allah accept our ibadah and good deeds in this holy month of Ramadan. Most importantly, may Allah forgive our sins. Amiin.

Entry 14
To understand is to observe. So I backed off, stopped what I was doing, watched and listened well. And now I begin to understand. Thank you Allah for the soft reminder.

Entry 15
You need to stop being judgmental towards other people if you don't want others to be all judgy over you.

Entry 16
Sometimes you need to disconnect to reconnect.

Entry 17
Worry only over something that is worth our concerns.

Umbrella for Your Rain

You don't even have the courtesy to say Hi to me all this while,
So how could you ask me for umbrella when it's raining?

Final Exam

Salam all,

My final exam starts tonight. I really don't understand why my university has a FINAL EXAM on a SATURDAY at NIGHT. It's just nonsense. My brain is already too tired from trying to memorize all these formula so now I am just watching Netflix.

Please pray for the best. Thank youuu :)

Falling In Love

Have you ever dreamed of going to one particular place all your life and it turned out to be just as you wanted it to? And you wanted to stay there all your life.

I've found that place. The one and only place that I've fallen in love completely. And I will make sure I plan my future so that I would end up there some day! Forever! :)

To Impress or Not To Impress

God has given each and every human being equal 24 hours a day. So don't you dare tell me that you don't have time.

We have time. We ALWAYS have time. It's how you manage your time that matters. I am not excellent at time management either, but I know exactly when I need to get something done. I am not going to make another person suffer because I screw up on my part.

I know you. I know you're not busy doing things you're ACTUALLY supposed to do. Unfortunately, you're just busy doing things to impress others. If I may offer an advice - You don't have to impress everyone around you. If someone really likes you, he or she will like you because you are you.

I don't know where I am going with this, but the bottom line is please LOVE yourself before you love others. And yeah, manage your time wisely.

You're A Gift

"You're a gift. You're a gift I never dreamed I could want or need, and every day I will show you that you're a gift that I deserve. You make me the best person I could ever hope to be and I want to spend and learn and love the rest of my life with you."

I've been watching Chuck since three weeks ago. And I am currently on the last season (Season 5). I really don't know what I'm doing with my life, but I do realize that I am not putting much effort in studying anymore... This quote above is one of the quotes from Chuck that really gets me.

We used to be two very best friends but now we are just two persons that occasionally like each other's pictures on Facebook. I miss you, friend.
